APAC Alumni in ‘The Virtuous Burglar’

This hilarious farce ‘The Virtuous Burglar’ featuring APAC acting students was presented by Xth Act at the Anywhere Festival.

A new, contemporary adaptation set in Brisvegas where gender politics and class are at the centre of this wild farce at the old Jo Jo’s restaurant on Melbourne Street in South Brisbane. An attempted robbery at a Teneriffe apartment goes horribly wrong when the burglar is interrupted by the return of the owner and his mistress. Things turn from bad to worse when their respective spouses arrive, along with the burglar’s zany wife. As the night explodes into tales of betrayal, adultery and accusations of polyamory, the only one left ‘innocent’ is the confused burglar.

WHEN: Thurs 5 – Sat 14 May 2022
WHERE: Anywhere Festival Hub 170 Melbourne St, South Brisbane

Tucked away at the Old Jo-Jo’s Restaurant in South Brisbane, this small but mighty show was the debut piece by Xth Act, a collective of acting graduates, who combined traditional farce with contemporary elements to deliver a darkly delicious and humorous piece.
