Liana’s first acting role was on a children’s television show in Alice Springs called Yamba’s Playtime (1995). From there she moved to Brisbane, graduating from The Performing Arts Conservatory in 2006. She was then named “Miss Earth Australia” in 2009 by People’s Choice. During the competition she also received awards for “Best in Environmental Speech”, “Green Achievers” and the “Innovators Award”. Liana has starred in internationally recognised films and received international praise for her role in The Man In The Maze (2011). However, she claims Cass in Backwater (2013) is the role she’s proudest of the most. She had to go to some dark places in order to play the role, a great achievement for an actor to pull off.
A Wake-Up Call
Liana went to the hospital for a lump in her throat in 2009, where a biopsy confirmed she had a pre-cancerous tumour. She credits the tumour to a junk food addiction. Since Liana was raised in an indigenous community, she knew she could heal the tumour naturally with food high in nutrition. Within 3 months the tumour was gone. To stop herself from going back to her junk food habits, Liana started a blog to make herself accountable. She decided that for 365 days straight, she would only eat foods the earth provided naturally. She called the blog, “The Earth Diet”.
After successfully completing the year, Liana’s blog became so popular that her readers requested she write a book. As a result, she wrote the book The Earth Diet, which she self-published in 2012. The book was an instant success. Consequently, the largest self-empowerment book publisher in the world, Hay House, picked the book up and published her in hard copy. Since then, she has helped thousands of people to lose excess weight through her book. Additionally, readers have also improved on other conditions such as cancer, diabetes, addictions, depression, acne, heart disease, obesity, and more. Since then, Liana has released another book, 10-Minute Recipes, which hit #1 on Amazon Australia straight away.
Liana is now a sought-after international speaker and advocate for natural healing, using a healthy diet and lifestyle. She continues to work in the entertainment industry, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle. Her intention is to live her life the best she can, inspiring others to live the lives of their dreams as well.
